Relish the consolations of the dark side of the year. The rich, the lush, the deeply aromatic. We're thrilled about our December 15 dinner because it means we get to indulge in some truly decadent cold-weather deliciousness, but also because it marks our first return to our old stomping grounds! Join us on Thursday, December 15 for a celebration of winter fare at Court Tree Collective. in Carroll Gardens. We'll start with roasted kabocha squash, nutty, caramelized, and sweet, served over a dollop of dhal cooked with tart green mango and sprinkled with a chili-flecked pistachio chutney powder. We follow this with a tangle of finely shaved brussels sprouts gently sauteed with cultured butter and green chile and scattered with shavings of ricotta salata. Our next course is homemade paneer, a fresh cheese, grilled and served on a bed of tender braised spinach. Finally, we have short ribs braised in a Kerala-style spice blend of curry leaves, coriander, black pepper, onions, coconut, and more. And for dessert (we hope you saved room), we have homemade jilebi, thin spirals of fried batter soaked in a saffron-infused syrup and served with rabri, slowly thickened lightly sweetened fresh cream.
